Media Guidelines
Marble Falls ISD Media Guidelines
Marble Falls ISD will work cooperatively with the news media for coverage of issues, crisis, general news and events involving the district.
Due to The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the sensitivity of certain circumstances, information may not be able to be provided upon request. The safety and security of students and staff is our top priority.
Media cooperation and respect in following Marble Falls ISD guidelines is appreciated so that we can ensure the integrity of the instructional day and provide consistent, accurate information to media representatives.
School Interviews
Please contact Lauren Jette, Communications Coordinator if you’d like to interview Marble Falls ISD students, educators, and administrators. An interview time with the appropriate person will be arranged. All media must have contact and approval from the Communications Coordinator before visiting any Marble Falls ISD campus or department.
School Visits
If you would like to visit a school, please contact the Communications Coordinator. Media will be escorted around any school for an interview or story. We will work with your schedule, as well as that of the students and staff, to ensure that your visit is successful. Please plan ahead and reach out as early as possible so that we can accommodate the media request in a timely manner that does not interrupt the school day in a negative way.
Photographing Students and Staff
Some students can not be photographed. FERPA allows students and parents to opt out of the release of certain information about students, including photographs. Marble Falls ISD operates in compliance with this law. Before we can allow anyone to take photos, video, and/or quotes from our students, a building administrator must verify that these individuals have the proper release information on file.
